Short version: we collect what we need to send you a driveline, and nothing else. We do not sell your information. We never see your card number.
What we collect
When you place an order
- Your name and shipping address
- Your email address
- What you ordered and what you paid
We need all of it to get parts to the right place and to deal with you afterwards about returns or warranty.
When you pay
Card details are typed directly into Stripe, not into our site. The payment fields at checkout belong to Stripe and sit inside their secure frame. Your card number never reaches our servers and we could not store it if we wanted to. Stripe is a PCI Level 1 service provider and their handling is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy. What we can see afterwards is the last four digits, the card brand, and whether it worked.
When you email us
Whatever you put in the message, plus your email address, so we can reply.
When you browse
We count page views using Vercel Web Analytics. It is deliberately chosen to be cookieless: it sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. What we get is aggregate — which pages are popular, roughly where visitors come from, what kind of device they use. We cannot pick you out of it.
Because of that, this site puts no cookie consent banner in your way. There is nothing to consent to.
Your cart
Your cart is stored in your own browser, not on our servers. It holds part numbers and quantities. Clear your browser data and it is gone — including from our side, because we never had it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information to anybody.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
- We do not require an account to buy something.
Who we share it with
Only the companies needed to complete your order:
- Stripe — takes the payment and handles card data.
- Our supplier and the freight carrier — get your name and shipping address so the part reaches you.
- Vercel — hosts the site and provides the anonymous page counts.
We will also hand over information where the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for supporting you. Anonymous analytics are kept on a rolling window and cannot be tied back to you regardless.
Your rights
Email sales@540supply.com and we will action any of these within 30 days:
- Ask what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct something wrong
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Ask for a copy in a portable format
If you live in California, the CCPA gives you these rights explicitly, plus the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. Residents of other states with similar laws get the same treatment — we would rather run one honest standard than several.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS throughout. Payment data is isolated with Stripe as described above. We keep order data to the minimum that lets us do the job. No system is perfect, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling something — but we have deliberately built this so that the most sensitive data never lands here at all.
Children
This is a site for agricultural parts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, this page changes and the date at the top moves.
