If a part is not right, send it back. We would rather take a return than have you stuck with a shaft that does not fit.
The short version
- 30 days from delivery to start a return.
- Part must be unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.
- No restocking fee.
- You pay return shipping if you changed your mind or ordered the wrong part. We pay it if we got it wrong — wrong item sent, defective, or damaged in transit.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
What we cannot take back
Once a driveline has been fitted to a machine and turned, it is used — it picks up wear, grease and paint transfer, and we cannot resell it as new. So:
- Parts that have been installed, run, cut, drilled or modified.
- Parts shortened to length, which is a permanent alteration.
- Items returned without their original packaging or missing components.
- Special-order items not held in normal stock, unless faulty.
Trial-fitting a shaft to check spline engagement is fine and does not count as installed. Bolting it up and running the machine does.
Damaged or wrong on arrival
Inspect the shipment before signing. If the packaging is damaged, write it on the carrier’s delivery paperwork before you sign — without that note a freight claim is very hard to win. Then email us within 48 hours with photos of the damage and the packaging. We will replace the part or refund it in full, including shipping both ways. You will not be out of pocket for a mistake that was not yours.
How to start a return
Email sales@540supply.com with:
- Your order reference
- The part number you are returning
- Why it is coming back (be blunt — “wrong spline count” helps us more than “does not fit”)
- Photos, if it arrived damaged or the wrong item came
We will reply with a return authorisation and the address to ship to. Please do not send anything back before you have that — unannounced returns are easy to lose, and we cannot refund what we cannot identify.
Refund timing
We process the refund within 3 business days of the part arriving back and passing inspection. Your bank then takes its own time — usually 5 to 10 business days for the money to show on a card statement. The refund goes back to the original payment method; we cannot send it somewhere else.
If you paid the flat shipping charge, it is refunded when the return is our fault, and not refunded when you simply changed your mind. That charge covers freight that has already been paid to get the part to you.
Cancelling before it ships
Email us as soon as you can. If it has not left our supplier yet we will cancel and refund in full, no questions. Once it is on a truck it becomes a return.
Warranty claims
A part that fails in service is a warranty matter rather than a return. Parts carry the manufacturer’s warranty against defects, and we will help you put the claim in. Email us with the order reference, the part number and what happened.
